ARTIST STATEMENT
My work explores the fragile balance between human existence and the natural world - a relationship that is slowly eroding, yet remains deeply inscribed within us.
Each series unfolds as a dialogue between surface and depth - between what is visible and what resists exposure. From the fluid reflections of Water to the urban ecologies of Gentrification, from the earthy materiality of Mother Earth to the living landscapes of Mother Nature and the immersive tactility of The Leaf Room, my work traces the shifting boundaries between human and environment.
In the recent series Cells, organic forms inspired by fungi, lichens, and microscopic structures merge with reflections on the human body. Growth and decay, fragility and resilience coexist - revealing that transformation is not an exception in nature, but its very essence.
Currently, my practice evolves toward a holistic approach: I am developing a paper Dutchman to transform discarded textiles and recycled paper into my own painting surfaces. This process allows me to work within a circular system, where creation begins long before the first brushstroke.
Drawing on my background in mechatronics, I merge technical precision with material sensitivity - a synthesis of engineering and intuition. The resulting handmade papers are not only painting grounds, but potential sculptural skins: fragile shelters, translucent and organic, spaces of retreat and lightness.
Across all media, my work asks how we can reconnect with the rhythm of nature - and with the quiet wisdom that arises when we listen instead of dominate.
It is an ongoing investigation into coexistence: between the constructed and the organic, the human and the elemental, the beginning and the end - all part of one continuous cycle of becoming.
